Accessibility
Last updated: October 17, 2026
We want Bad Karma to work for everyone who trains. We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We are not there yet, so here is what works today and what we know does not.
What works today
- Keyboard focus is clearly visible on the controls we tested.
- Pinch zoom is allowed, and the main screens work at 320 pixels wide and at 200% browser zoom without sideways scrolling.
- The app follows your device's reduce motion setting for its own animations.
- Icon buttons and images have text descriptions for screen readers.
- Confirmation messages and sign-in errors are announced to screen readers.
- The sign-in email and code fields are labeled and support one-time-code autofill.
- Logging a set and adjusting food amounts work with a keyboard, and screen readers are told when a set is done.
- Pop-up panels take keyboard focus when they open, keep it inside, close with the Escape key, and return focus when closed.
- Form fields are labeled for screen readers.
- The rest timer never locks you out: you can skip or adjust it at any time.
Known limitations
We are fixing these. Until then:
- Switching tabs or opening a full-screen view such as Settings can move focus to the top of the page, and the tab bar does not say which tab is selected.
- The rest timer and new chat messages are not announced to screen readers.
- Some screens have no headings to navigate by.
- Text field borders and member initials on timeline avatars are low contrast.
- Some buttons are smaller than 44 points.
- Messages with an Undo button disappear after about 5 seconds.
- After typing in a field, the app may reset pinch zoom.
- GIFs shared by crew members loop with no pause control.
- Voice and video heckles have no captions or transcripts. Text heckles are available instead.
- Text follows browser zoom but not your phone's system text size.
- Charts show trends visually; key numbers are also shown as text.
- We have not yet tested with VoiceOver or TalkBack.
